Bill Fernandez was the fourth employee to work at Apple. He was recruited to take care of the user interface of Apple Computers, and was responsible for the user interface elements of Apple I and Apple II. He was also responsible for the user interface of QuickTime, Mac OS and Hypercard.
But that’s not everything. He was the one who introduced Steve Jobs to Steve Wozniak. And I still remember the documentary in which he points out the exact place where those two met. In this interview with Leo Laporte and Mike Elgan of TWiT, Fernandez shares some unknown details of how Apple inherited some of the user interface elements from Xerox corporation, and made it available to the public.
