Just as Apple promised earlier this year at WWDC 2015, the company has now released a public preview of El Capitan, a necessary performance upgrade release for the OS X customers. The public beta program allows you to download OS X El Capitan and try the OS for yourself. But remember that you are signing up for a beta software that is not production ready.
Usually, whenever there is a new OS release, we keep ourselves away from them for a while, since it would break a lot of dependent libraries in your system, sometimes, making your life miserable. Especially if you are a developer.
El Capitan includes numerous performance enhancements along with some new features like split-view and multitasking for better productivity with your Mac.
You can install the first public beta by registering at the Apple’s Beta Software program website. We advice you to make a full backup of your machine, before upgrading to El Capitan. And remember that a fresh install has always proven to be much stable than an upgrade from Yosemite or any other version of OS X.
Looking at the pace of development, we can expect El Capitan to hit the public around second week of October.
