It’s that time of the year now. Samsung is swarming the market with new devices, with its regular numeric naming. But this year, they’re bringing in a concept device that they showcased in some of the events previously.
Today, Samsung announced Note Edge, a Galaxy Note device with a bent edge towards the right side of the device. The phone looks pretty cool, and new use cases might come up now. The device has a bent side, instead of the bottom or anywhere else.
Note Edge features a 5.6-inch AMOLED display that with a total resolution appears is 2560×1600. Right now, the default apps take advantage of this bent display. The features are pretty limited, but we are sure that the developers will take advantage of this bent display. The device displays the clock in there when the device’s screen is off, besides displaying the stock ticker, notifications and other basic functions.
On the other hand, the device comes with competitive specifications, sporting a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with a 3GB RAM and a 32GB storage capacity, with a SD card slot. The camera is also pretty solid with a 16MP camera. We will have to wait until we figure out the use cases for this bent display.
