It’s always nice to see Android apps getting the Material Design makeover. We’ve seen a few applications adopting the new design language, like Wally which is a curated collection of wallpapers, LocalCast and even a Root Check app, and so many more. Buts it’s always exciting to see if something come from the company.
Google Chrome now gets the Material Design makeover. And let me tell you, it’s actually really neat! The browser gets a minimal, flat design with contrasting black icons. There are some subtle animations when you open a new tab or close one, a zoom out and in feature. To me personally, it looks rather like a simple UI upgrade than anything major. Well we hope to see apps getting a major overhaul once Android L comes out with all the new animations and colors and typography.
