LG’s new Circular Android Wear Smartwatch to be previewed next week

Looks like Moto360 has a competitor already. LG is all set to announce its new smartwatch that would run Android Wear at an event in Berline next week. The company is calling it the LG G Watch R.

Moto360 is considered to be the most beautiful Smartwatch with Android Wear right now. Though the device has a dedicated preview section for a day at this year’s Google I/O conference, the company is set to release the smartwatch to the attendees of the conference post September 4th according to an email that was sent earlier.

With LG coming into the market very early for the circular smartwatch segment, we think the company’s plan is pretty clear. The company took advantage of Google’s stage with a rectangular Smartwatch, that created the buzz they needed, and then, within a quarter, the Circular version of the smartwatch is almost ready for the customers, to compete with Moto360.

The video below is the teaser the company has released about its new G Watch Round. All the guess that we can make right now is that the watch has a perfect circle, unlike the Moto360, which has a flat end towards the user’s side of the watch.

LG has also confirmed that the watch will be previewed during IFA 2014 at Berlin next week. Here are some of the screenshots that might give you an idea about the design of the G Watch R:
