YouTube partners with Docomo to provide video streaming for as low as Rs.9

Certainly YouTube has come to terms with the huge market that it has in India. The largest video streaming website, that most Indian internet users resort to, has joined hands with local mobile and 3G data service provider Tata Docomo to introduce what can now be called “YouTube Recharge”.

These firms have come up with plans that will allow the user to stream videos on their 3G enabled smartphone for economic packages that start from $0.15 (Rs.9) for 24 hrs with a capability of streaming 100 mb of video content. This plan can provide 20-30 minutes of video with 240p playback. Another plan gives 300 mb of content priced at $0.65(Rs.39).

Other than YouTube Docomo users can stream video from collaborating video service provider Apalya. By far the most used video site in India, YouTube has definitely taken advantage of the huge potential in the Indian Smartpone user bracket.

“We hope Indians will be able to get more out of YouTube at a better price,” said Gautam Anand, Director of Content Partnerships and Operations for YouTube Asia-Pacific, in a statement.

Pre-paid customers are sure sure to be delighted with this new advancement which will give them an upper hand at using net services on the go with the plans coming at such fairly cheaper rates.

With pre-paid WhatsApp already a hit among the Indians its is only fair that Google too adopts to the needs of today’s data users. And YouTube is undoubtedly a good choice to start with.
