Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, at yesterday’s conference unveiled the Mi Band along with the much hyped Mi 4 smartphone that is to take upon Apple’s iPhone. The fitness tracker was released with much fanfare given the amazing features that it has in hold given the astonishing price at which it comes.
The company’s first ever wearable is an energy powerhouse with the power supposedly to last a whopping 30 days. Also the device that can help one track their sleeping routines and fitness has a bluetooth connectivity to pair with the users smartphone as well.
The looks definitely have it in them to make this particular wearable a huge success. Available in a range of colors and costing a mere $13 US, the band looks sleek with a small aluminium surface and perforated side bands avoiding the clutter with no display screen. Also the band sports water resistance.
The most important feature though is the option to unlock one’s phone with not even a small gesture as a swipe. The users smartphone can be unlocked by just holding it in the same hand as he is wearing the band. A budget wearable with some great features, the Mi Band is sure a success.
