If you are working on a product that you love so much, the search for a perfect name would never end. And ultimately, you would give up on that, and name it something that would be easy for everyone to remember, and go mainstream. That is exactly what happened to Tesla Motors. The company's ambitious economy car, which would be priced at $35,000 has a new name. And its called, Model 3.
When the company started manufacturing Model S, which costs somewhere around $50K, announced that they would want to revolutionize the automobile industry, by producing a car that is priced lesser than the Model S. Today, we are probably getting close to mass production. Model 3 would be the company's next release after their SUV, which has created enough stir to get sold out on the first day.
The Model 3 was initially named Model E. But then, Ford warned the company that they would sue them if they moved any further with that name, since Ford has some history connected to the word 'E' earlier.
The announcement was made on their Twitter profile, and all we have to say is, Good luck Tesla, we are waiting for your next car, even though the White House is against you from selling cars directly to the customers:
Confirmed: Our Gen III car, due out after Model X, will be named Model 3. http://t.co/PLhUzycSlp pic.twitter.com/noZf17LXre
