Ever wanted to see how a robot would perform in the battle field for real, other than the ones in the games and simulators? Well, that just happened. Boston Dynamics' battlefield robot, AlphaDog was recently tested in a simulated battlefield and the results have been captured in the video that you can watch above.
The robot went on to the field with the US Marine Corps to fight for itself. The tests were performed at a Hawaiii combat facility. The robot was tested if it could navigate itself in different terrains and with for an ATV to perform other actions.
If you watch the video, you might as well reduce the volume automatically for the noise it makes. Its nothing close to the sounds produced by the combat kings like Optimus Prime or Bumblebee. It's something more like a rusted Megatron coming to life all by itself. Just like any other human creation, the robot has got its own limitations and bugs. There are places where you can see the Dog not being able to climb or pass through.
So the age where the robots are getting trained for a combat is here.
