Twitter COO Ali Rowghani steps down

With silent murmurs about Twitters top executive shelf revamp, Ali Rowghani, COO, Twitter just a while ago tweeted his departure from the company. The once Pixar employee said,

“Goodbye Twitter. It’s been an amazing ride, and I will cherish the memories.”

Mr. Rowgani who had joined  Twitter, back in 2010 as the CFO had been charge of invigorating the user base at the tech giant which reportedly didn’t work out as expected. Kara Swisher of Recode wrote that the recent turn in events such as Daniel Graf, Vp of products, reporting directly to the CEO instead of the COO and a huge stock sale that brought up controversies among the employees lead the executives to think over the necessity of a COO for the firm.

Before the official announcement came out, sources confirmed that the company was only intending to shift responsibilities from Ali Rowghani. And now they are reportedly not interested in finding a replacement .

Twitter just acknowledged his departure in a regulatory filing:

Effective today, Ali Rowghani has resigned from his position as the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) of Twitter, Inc. (“Twitter”). Mr. Rowghani will continue to be a Twitter employee and act as a strategic advisor to the CEO. Twitter does not intend to hire a replacement for the COO role, and all of Mr. Rowghani’s operating responsibilities will be assumed by other members of the Twitter management team.
