Tinder emboldens you to swipe right on the people you find attractive, left on those you don’t. If you and someone else have mutually swiped right on one another, you have the opportunity to chat in a text box. Now, Moments will also be a part of this.

Tinder founder Sean Rad told TechCrunch.

You can see who is interested in you based on liking content. And people love using Tinder for the joy of swiping, so we wanted to use the same experience to help people get to know each other.

It’s about sharing these moments, and just because you match, doesn’t mean you need to date that person; you could match with a friend who you want to share a moment with.

The feature lets you to send temporary picture messages which will disappear within 24 hours. You can add filters to the swipeable snaps, draw on them, or add text. A photo sharing feature called Moments to encourage people to use it for more than just hooking up.

As Josh Stein, a partner at VC firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson, told Bloomberg.

Tinder might end up competing with Snapchat or Facebook.

The update is live on the App Store now, though no news so far on when Moments will roll out.
