In a latest announcement Skype has put forth its plan to get rid of older versions of the service for both Windows and Mac desktops. Though the exact dates as to when the change will come to effect the officials have prompted the update occur “within few months.” The current plan is to scrape versions 6.13 and below for Windows users and for the Mac devotees its version 6.14 and below.
The update was proposed to ensure compatibility of features across versions and devices using the software. The newer version promises to have better benefits than the previous ones with features such as sending messages to offline users and updation of read or unread status across the devices of a user.
