Siri, the voice assistant in Apple products went good with US and UK accents but Indian accent were always found troubling Siri to recognize words. Along with the unveiling of iOS 8 in the WWDC 2014 conference, Apple announces Siri gets new features like streaming voice recognition and 22 new dictation languages including Indian english.
On the notes app, Deorukhar-Editor in chief of BeautifulPixels dictated the words “Hello [comma] how are you doing today [Question mark]” Siri was finally able to understand the accent and print it in the screen.
Deorukhar also has tweeted about the additional language support iOS 8 keyboard has got. Now Indian iconic languages Tamil, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and Urdu have been added and also the auto correct options are available to these.
