Ringly unveils its new smart ring, it worth wearing for women

Wearables are currently the biggest trend in mobile computing and typically get strapped to your wrist. Smartwatches can be great for getting you alerts from your phone on the sly. If you’re a woman, however, the popular ones don’t exactly scream high fashion or likely blend in with your typical wardrobe. Ringly focuses on bringing smart watch features to women’s fingers with its new smart ring.

The accompanying ring box also serves as a charging station. The ring’s battery life is projected to run two to three days on a single charge. The Ringly app will support iOS and Android devices at launch and pair with the Ringly hardware over Bluetooth LE. Through the app you can customize the light and vibration patterns for different kinds of notifications. The ring can notify you when you are receiving a text, phone call, calendar alert, email, or third-party notification, and can even alert you if you leave your phone behind. You can also add notifications from your favorite applications such as Instagram Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Uber, Tinder and Poshmark.

Ringly does really look like stylish jewelry and does not have the feel of an electronic device.  The ring is beautifully crafted with 18K gold and semi-precious stones and comes in four flavors: black onyx, rainbow moonstone, pink sapphire, and emerald.

Ringly is available for pre-orders for $149 at  www.Ringly.com, and the company has set a goal to raise $60,000 to fund production of its first batch. The ring will bevailable firs in three sizes, 6, 7, and 8, and the first 1,000 rings will include a real diamond on the side of the ring, where the notification light is located.

Ringly cofounder and CEO Christina Mercando says,

Our goal is to create products that are both stylish and useful, that women will be proud to wear. We believe that the future of wearables is in building discreet technology that integrates seamlessly into your life and makes your day-to-day easier. The more I use my Ringly, the more it’s like a personal assistant telling me what to do—plus there’s something so fun about having my jewelry talk to me!

according to its site,

The ring is billed as a simple solution so that women will never have to worry about missing an important message because their phone was hidden in the bottom of their bag or purse.
