Play the game in the movie ‘Her’ in real life!

From the creator of the hugely popular 3D holographic game played by Joaquin Phoenix in the film ‘Her’ , comes a video game that simulates mountains based on your mood while playing the game. Another first is that this one has an END. Yes that’s right the game has a play time of fifty hours and no more.

David OReilly the man behind this venture describes it as ” more psychologically invasive than anything Facebook wants to know about you ” and as an “experience more than a game .”

The creator himself gave a sneak peek into the video game at the Horizon conference held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, LA along with the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The game goes by a set of not so typical questions posed to the gamer. There are questions that relate to human behavior and not the usual vitae ones. Each question helps generate your very own mountain and enjoy the transformations through the day and seasons. David was also quoted as saying that “Mountain” is meant to be one where the player can actually relax and take in the scenery.

The first images released were pretty impressive and the mountains are picturised as extra terrestrial ones, afloat in space with different views that could be selected by the players like the God-like from above. These mountains are generative and there are billions of them to be explored. Once you have your own mountain you can leave it running on your desktop and watch it evolve.

David reportedly took to designing games after working on ‘Her’ and was reported by the LAtimes saying that it gave him the satisfaction of dropping all boundaries and exploring patterns and their iterations.

When asked as to why “Mountains”, the designer had an interesting answer,

“Because it’s an iconic zen thing, we as humans feel all big because we build great things but the fact is that mountains dwarf us.”

The cute, fluffy and bad mouthing video game character in ‘Her’ was no doubt a stunner and here’s to another exiting venture all set to grace our screens by the 21st of June.
