  • App Bundles – Buy multiple apps from a developer at discounted price
  • New way to discover applications
  • App Previews – A developer can now provide previews of the applications for the users before they buy

Updates to SDK

  • Over 4,000 new APIs
  • Extensibility – Extend the system and offer services to other apps (That’s huge)
  • Apps can now offer their actions to other apps, Like Pinterest can now provide access to Safari to let the users share right from Safari via Pinterest apps.
  • Third Party apps can now get into Notification Center with Widgets
  • You can now install custom keyboards on iOS – Keyboards now run inside a very protected sandbox, without access to the internet.

Updates to TouchID on iOS 8

Camera APIs on iOS 8

  • Manual Controls for Exposure
  • Cloud Photo library edits
  • Non-Destructive Edits

HomeKit on iOS 8

  • Common network protocol, that has secure pairing, allowing ONLY your iPhone to access your devices at home.

  • Siri Integration – Tell Siri that you are about to go to bed, and it will automatically set everything at your house the way you want it.
