Horizon is one among the most distinguished feature that an iProduct holds. Horizon shoots perfect horizontal videos in any shaky hands, even if you rotate your device while shooting. The next update of Horizon is just about to hit your devices and here is a rugged test which likes to put to test Horizon’s capabilities.
A small set up was made, an iPhone was placed in a car’s front wheel, attached by means of Tape and wire. The Phone was placed as its front face camera at the center of the wheel and yes it was ready. The car hit a speed of 50km/h (31mph) while the camera still rolling. The camera feed of the Phone was monitored on a Macbook using AirPlay.
Horizon was still able to maintain its fame, but after a while the iPhone’s device motion algorithms confused into thinking as the gravity vector was constantly changing due to the Centrifugal force. It was so confused as it couldn’t figure out the real gravity vector, the feel we get after a long Giant wheel ride.
Small clips recorded by the iPhone’s camera has been attached. The resulting video ended creating a wobbling effect and looked curved as an outcome of iPhone’s Rolling Shutter camera. iPhone captures the video and scans the input top to bottom, in this case the rotation speed of the phone and the scanning speed of the camera are likely close, making straight lines turn to curved ones.
It is amazing even after a number of 360 degree rotations, Horizon can still produce a better video.
