Report: Twitch to be acquired by Google for $1 Billion

Reports come in as the Search Engine giant Google is ready for its acquisition of  Twitch.tv to bring in the gamers crowd to its video stream YouTube.It is heard the deal is in all-cash and expected to close soon.

Twitch is a website with focus on e-sports and video gaming.The site was launched in June 2011 by Justin.tv by co-founders Justin Kan and Emmett Shear as a subsidiary of Justin.tv.

Internal analysis say there are over 45 million viewers on Twitch every month,with the average viewer watching an hour and a half a day.

YouTube has about one billion monthly users. If the acquisition is said to happen successful then YouTube can also take in the gamers count and become a largest live-stream video engine. Twitch streaming has been supported by Sony’s PS4 since its launch , and now it has got into Microsoft’s Xbox One.

As per The Verge, if the deal ends up positive, would effectively put one of the webs most highly trafficked sites firmly in Google’s hands.
