It has been several days since WhatsApp has been pulled back from the Windows market place due to some serious technical issues. As no immediate fixes were promised, Microsoft said this pull back was intentional and WhatsApp would be back in the market soon after the level of compatibility with the new Windows release 8.1 is good.
According to Microsoft,
WhatsApp chose to unpublish their app from the Windows Phone Store after discovering an issue with how notifications are being handled on Windows Phone 8, Update 3.
After days of ” We couldn’t find a match.Try a different spelling” messages for WhatsApp search in the Windows market place, we ended up with the updated version.
Update: WhatsApp is back in business and ready to download in the Windows Store. The app has been updated to version 2.11.490.0 and the updates include,
- Chat Backgrounds
- Privacy Settings ( settings > account > privacy)
- Broadcast lists
- Media auto-download settings (settings > chat settings > media autodownload )
- Custom notification tones
- Various enhancements and bug fixes.
Also to mention, the method to block a person has also had changes.
