Aaron Swartz was a genius. Without doubt, he revolutionized the way people consume news and media. With his work on some of the mod influential and powerful projects like the RSS, Creative Commons and Reddit, he definitely made an impact in the world of internet.
Swartz committed suicide in January 2013, after going through a lot of legal threat from the Government. He was jus 26 when he died, and the entire world was shocked to hear this heart breaking news. But there’s this part of the world, which is not completely aware of the accomplishments and the work he has done for an open Internet.
This Brian Knappenberfer’s Kickstarter-funded documentary, called “The Internet’s Own Boy”, is all set to release to the public on June 27th. We have the trailer of the documentary here now, and it is powerful, thought-provoking and conveys the message that has to be conveyed to the public.
The documentary might define what exactly was the mind-set of the prosecutors when fighting Aaron Swartz. Whether they were trying to make an example out of him, which they eventually failed, or were they dealing with Aaron the right way?
