With new age smartphones and tablets having their battery lives numbered in hours rather than days the Energi 2K charger by Tylt comes as a product that will acquire much fanfare.
At a glance the Energi 2K looks like yet another cliche’d adapter that you can use to charge your phone or tablet with using a USB cable. But it has a built in 2,200 mAh battery inside, that actually store the enrgy and help the device double up as a portable charger.
It might take about 3 or 4 hours for the built in battery to get charged fully and it might as well take another 90 minutes to charge your phone.
While you have plugged in the device to a socket the 2200 mAh battery gets charged and if you add on your phone or any other device, both the handset and the built in battery get charged up. Take out the Energi 2K and it charges your device until it runs out of juice. The charger is capable of charging up any smartphone at least to 70%.
Tylt though is hoping on crowd funding through a Kickstarter campaign so as to start production of the device. Backers of the campaign can reserve one for $20 but the team is planning on selling these chargers for $40. Shipping of the first units is expected to start in July.
