We have seen it, and we have been skeptical about the design aesthetics of the Merc B-class when compared with the A-class. The B-class had that oomph factor missing in it with its grille, and now, the car manufacturer is working on a facelift for this model, which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this October.
B-class was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2011, and has stayed true to its original design so far. The face lifted B-class (W246), will have an upgraded grille, updated headlight and tail lamp graphics, refreshed numbers and some minor changes to the interiors. The facelift was much needed for Mercedes to put the B-class in par with the A-class, and all the upgrades that are expected will do the job for them.
But if you are one of those, who wanted an update to the B-class engine, then you might be disappointed. The car will not have an upgraded engine, and will sport the same 1.4, 1.8 and 2.1 – liter diesel engine and the 1.6 and 2.0 – liter petrol engine of the current generation B-class.
There are also reports that the new Mercedes B-class has been spotted being benchmarked with the current generation B-class and is close to mass production.
