After the promulgation of a merger with Korea’s second-most immensely colossal internet portal Daum, chat app maker Kakao isn’t reposing on its laurels. It has just made Kakao Talk available for Mac users via an newly-launched native desktop Mac client, and introduced an new search chat feature for users on Windows PCs
In integration to its Mac client, the company withal integrated an new search feature to its desktop client KakaoTalk for Windows, which permits the users to probe for keywords within a chatroom in inversion chronological order.
Like desktop clients by KakaoTalk’s competitors, including Viber and Line, KakaoTalk for Mac and Windows syncs between mobiles and PCs. Dduring its press release Kakao had said that it will incorporate the ability to probe chats and send files soon to its Mac version. The search feature will withal be integrated to mobile apps later this year.
KakaoTalk for Windows is currently available in Korean, English, and Japanese, while the Mac version is in Korean and English. In order to compete with Line, KakaoTalk will have to magnetize more international users.
