Foursquare recently announced that the company was working on a all new application that is intended only for Checkins into places, and that the app will not do anything more than Checkins and that it will display the checkins in realtime. The app is now available for both iOS and Android.
Swarm comes with a unique feature that has been derived from Foursquare. But the only thing that might go completely wrong is that the app is tracking you ALL the time, which I think it sucks. But then, it can be turned off easily by just swiping from left to right in the menu bar of the application. For some reason, the moment I opened the app, and installed it on my device, it was all good, but then, it was all creepy after that. The app keeps using your location service, and every time I have my location service being used by some app, I just head to kill that off, considering the battery drain it causes.
There are some features the Swarm has that I love. One such feature is the ability to see where my friends are around me. But the funniest part was when I saw one of my friend, who checked in in Uttar Pradesh, was showing up that he was in 5.0mi radius.
Swarm is an app that you can use when you have lot of friends who are addicted to Foursquare. If you don’t have such friends, and love to use Swarm, then you better get some. Swarm is now available for both iOS and Android. But for now, I’m sticking onto Foursquare. Well, it still works, and it more than enough for me at this point of time.
