It seems like social interaction is the way to go for any new apps that have hit the market recently. Earlier in the week we saw Jelly, a photo based social interaction app. The newest to join the bandwagon seems to be Wordeo. Instantly share video based messages on famous social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or your traditional email account. But it’s not as simple as that. Wordeo claims to “bring your words to life”. The videos are auto-generated depending on the message you want to tell the world.
Set up by former Apple executive David Bailey and ex-BBC iPlayer back-end builder Bob Johnson, Wordeo aims to change what a video messaging app should function like. The London based company has been building and iterating the app with its 15 or so employees in their Shoreditch office.
The app is pretty simple and straight-forward. Enter a message you’d like to share, the app pulls up images from Getty Images, and strings them into a video that can be shared instantly. For example, if you’d like to share to the world that you’re “Driving with my love”, go to Wordeo. Enter your message, and the app pulls up relevant images for “driving”, “with”, “my”, and “love”.
The downside is, if the app does not find relevant images, which can happen for words like “the” and such, it automatically generates a standard white-text-on-black-background like image. Also, you are allowed to add your own images to the video. So if you’d like to share something about “Karthik”, just add his image on to the video! Simple as that!
It doesn’t end there! The app also adds custom music to the video. If you say “happily driving with my love”, it’ll add soulful guitar music in the background! Come on, even that sounds good when you’re happy! Or are we feeling a little too lazy to add “happily” in there? That’s fine! Just add a “:)” face to it. And we’re good to go! Don’t like the custom music the app selects? You guessed it. You can add what your own music in there too!
You can download it on the AppStore right away! As for Android users, we might just have to wait it out.
