WhatsApp adds 5 million monthly active users in India since August.

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging app for the smartphones, now has over 25 million monthly active users in India, adding about 5 million monthly active users since August 2013.

WhatsApp’s Neeraj Arora, Head of Business Development revealed some interesting numbers to CNBC TV18, while clearing the air about the company being sold to Facebook for a hefty amount. The app company has been partnering with some cellular network providers in India like Reliance Communication, to push WhatsApp to even more users.

Arora also revealed that these partnerships with carriers have worked out phenomenally well for the company to increase the users base in the country. He did not reveal about the numbers which increased due to the partnerships. WhatsApp has been often rumored to be selling itself to companies like Facebook and Google. But the recent announcement from Neeraj has cleared the air yet again.

While everything is good with WhatsApp, the only factor that is bothering some of the iOS users using WhatsApp is the iOS 7 update to the app. Which the developers might be working on.
