Google has announced that the company is all set for the next version of Google Glass, reportedly with improved specs and compatibility with prescription glasses.
Google released the Google Glass last year at the Google IO 2012, and the company has rolled out the device to selected few in the US. Ever since its release, the company has been working on the next version of Glass, and its now out finally.
Google Glass 2 will now be compatible with the existing prescription glasses and would come with a frame that would enable that. Along with this compatibility, the new device also comes with a mono earbud, instead of the bone conduction headphones, which literally scared some people using the Glass unit.
The existing Glass Explorers will be able to upgrade to a new Glass 2 unit for free, and would now get three invites, which they can send to their friends so that they can try out Glass. Looks like Google is trying to make the Glass, the current world GMail.
The trade-in program for the existing Glass users will start in November, and Google will make an official announcement via an email to all the existing Glass owners about the trade-in program.
