Apple announced on Tuesday that the company will release the final version of iOS 7 to the public on September 18th and the update will be available for free to the customers.
The iOS devices which are capable of running the latest and the most criticized iOS version, the iOS 7 will receive the update Over-the-Air, right on their iOS devices. You will be notified about the update once it starts rolling out. But you can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
iOS 7 was originally announced back in June during the company’s World Wide Developers Conference, and the new operating system for the Apple’s Mobile Devices has been designed by Johny Ive’s team. With over 1,500 APIs for the developers and 200 new features for the users, the iOS 7 is considered to be the biggest ever update since the original iOS.
iOS 7 was seeded to the developers in June, and has been seeing a lot of changes during the beta iterations. The OS version had six betas and now, the Gold Master build is available for the developers to test their app out.
Interestingly, during the event, Apple confirmed that iOS 7 is 64-bit capable, which is super huge for the company. There is yet to be a company which has produced a 64-bit processor on a mobile device.
