Import IO: Let the machines assimilate data for you

There’s always been a race to consolidate data from websites. Data on the internet is designed in a way only humans can interpret them, machines or software find it hard to assimilate data.

There have many services before such as IFTTT and Dapper that provide this. IFTTT grabs data from blogs and updates users via SMS or other communication portals. Dapper also gathers data and provides context. Yahoo! Pipes was an interesting attempt. It mash’s up data and allows the user to manipulate it with a easy graphical interface. It provides “pipes” to grab data from various sources and then set up constraints for how that data should be filtered.

Import.IO introduced at the TechCrunch Disrupt achieves this flawlessly. What it does it, converts the website data into easily accessible spreadsheets. This can be later queried either manually or via an API.

This service can be easily used for people who are not technically aesthetic as well. There is no need to develop or code complicated scrapers, it’s completely visual. Just point and click and you’re good to go. Want to create an API that queries multiple websites? Yeah, that should take a minute or two with Import.IO!

It provides scalable solutions, Import.IO allows you to crawl entire websites with “minimal effort for maximum gain”. You can then store the output onto the cloud, share it via a social media portal, or download it in a Excel, CSV, HTML or JSON format.

With data integration services, the internet becomes more of a world wide database for users to query and extract information and links that were previously not possible. Maybe Import.IO could be the service for your website! Check it out and let us know!
