BlackBerry Messenger for iOS awaiting App Store approval.

For those who’ve been waiting for BBM to arrive on iOS and Android, this might be a good news for you. In a tweet by one of the company’s representative, the app has been submitted to the iOS App Store and is awaiting approval.

BlackBerry revealed that they’re expanding their BBM service to devices which run iOS and Android. But the company has been making a really slow progress with the release. But this tweet from the company’s representative has given us all a hope that the app might hit the App Store as a free download anytime soon.

The company announced that they have set May 2013 as the release date for iOS and Android, but the app is still in the making. This might be due to the bad tides which BlackBerry is riding on. There were also reports that the company is trying to identify a potential buyer and has also formed a special team to identify them.

It might initially not be easy for BlackBerry to get the market which it wants, on iOS and Android. Potential competitors like Whatsapp, Skype, iMessage and TextPlus might put BBM on the back seat. On the other hand, users who migrated from BlackBerry to iOS and Android might have a taste of BlackBerry with BBM.

There is no word about the arrival of BBM for Android till date. But some users are already trying out the private beta of BBM for Android since July.
