BABOOM is the new music service from Kim Dotcom. Launching in a few months.

Kim Dotcom, who recently stepped down as the director of Mega, is now coming up with a new project called Baboom, an online music service. The new service will reportedly give artists more freedom, transparency and control over their work.

The name of the new music service from Kim Dotcom was confirmed by TorrentFreak. Baboom will reportedly launch in a few months time, and is the image which you see above is a teaser that Kim Dotcom has released for the new service.

The project was initially called Megabox, but Kim Dotcom was reportedly not able to continue with that domain name since it was seized by the U.S. Government. After all the mess-up which happened between Kim Dotcom and the U.S. Government, the founder of Mega decided to continue working on the project, but kept the name a secret until he resigned as the director.

The music service will launch under the domain name Baboom.com and it is also reported that Mr. Dotcom has secured millions in funding the project already.

With Baboom, Mr. Dotocom wants to revolutionize the music industry and provide artists with more freedom than before. He has also confirmed that top artists have already come forward to support this initiative, giving a hint of the effect the new service would have when it launches to the public.

Baboom will have an interesting business model. The users will be given free streaming access for the music hosted on Baboom, and the entire system will depend on the advertising revenue. This would drastically reduce the music piracy business and that’s the thought Kim Dotcom shares with Baboom. On the other hand, the service will also have a paid version, with ad-free music listening.

This business model might sound familiar to the users, but then the difference will be with the kind of access and the amount of free music that will be available to the public. The effect of Baboom will be known once it launches to the public in the months to come. If top artists across the world are able to get their hands-on with this new service from Mr. Dotcom, it might be a huge hit.
