This is killer. Apple on Tuesday announced that their best selling iOS Productivity Suite, the iWork is now available for free to all the iOS device owners.
The iWork suite includes Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie for both iPhone and iPad. The company’s iWork suite was considered to be the most popular productivity suite for the iOS devices. And talking about this move, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook said:
We think that iWork is a really key advantage for our customers’ productivity, and iPhoto and iMovie are great for their creativity,
While there is still no sign of these apps getting the iOS 7 treatment, Tim Cook said that they have decided to make this move since the customers loved these apps and they thought they’d need them on their devices for free.
This might make an impact for Apple on the App Store, since these apps were expensive to purchase. But then, Apple as a company loves its customers and making iWork suite free for all iOS devices has put an end to the never ending questions relating to iWork’s pricing for iCloud.
Update: Our readers were pretty confused about this news. Apple is offering the iWork suite only for those who get new iOS devices from now. And this offer is not applicable for those who are already owning an iOS device. The apps in the App Store will still carry that pricetag for the existing users.
