Apple sells out nine million iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c combined during the opening weekend.

Apple today announced that the company had yet another epic iPhone launch this weekend. The company has sold over nine million iPhone since launch, which happened on 20th September.

Talking about this milestone for the company, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook said, “This is our best iPhone launch yet–more than nine million new iPhones sold–a new record for first weekend sales,”, according to the press release. This is an all-time record for the company, and Apple has been breaking its own records with every iPhone’s launch.

The stats are for both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. We are not clear about the statistics about the individual models which got sold, but this is a pretty huge thing for Apple. This also says that the company is doing something right, still.

Besides this, Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 7, has also been doing well. iOS 7 is believed to be running on over 30% (or 200 million) of the iOS devices, ever since it launched. We will have to wait until Apple reveals the statistics about the number of devices which upgraded to iOS 7. If these numbers about iOS 7 were to be believed, then Google, a major contributor to Android, has to do something to unify their upgrade system.
