MixBit is a new app which lets you edit and combine multiple video clips into one single clip and share it with your friends and followers. Interesting fact? The app comes from the creators of YouTube.
MixBit is a free app, which is now available on iOS through the App Store, which lets its users record short video clips of up to 16 seconds, and share it with friends. While this concept might be similar to Instagram and Vine, there’s more to this app and its social network. MixBit allows users to stitch up to 256 such clips together and share with your friends.
Well, wait. If you still feel that this is just another app, then you should probably read more now. MixBit brings in a new concept, which lets you borrow clips from your friends and other MixBit users. Once you borrow their clips, you should be able to stitch it with your own 16 seconds video on MixBit. And interestingly, everything happens inside the app on iOS and soon-to-be-on-Android app.
I’m pretty convinced with what the founders, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, says about this app. They say that the concept is to reuse users’ content. Which I think is pretty innovative. Since most of the time, people just forget what has been shared in the past, which usually gets hidden down the stream.
Now that the app is out on iOS, its up to the users to do something super creative. And this might be the perfect place for the movie producers to share short clips of their movies with their fans.
