Facebook rolls out Embeddable public posts. Follows the path of Twitter.

If you are to embed some Facebook posts in your website or blog, it was not possible until now. Facebook is now slowly rolling out the feature which lets you embed the public posts from Facebook Profiles into your website or blog.

Twitter has been having this feature for a long time now, which allows the users to embed the public tweets into websites or blogs. And I’ve always wanted Facebook to roll out such a feature and it is now a reality.

The Facebook’s embeddable posts are now available for some of the popular pages like CNN, Huffington Post, Mashable, etc., The feature was being tested for a few months now, and looks like the embeddable posts are now ready to go public.

Users will be able to embed posts with videos and media content in the websites. It works like a Like button. When a user is signed in into their Facebook account, then they would be seeing a Like Page or Follow buttons in the embedded posts.

Only thing which worries me is the JavaScript which loads along with the embedded posts. It loads the Facebook SDK again into the site, which might increase the load times. Here’s a sample of how the embed code looks like:

It’s interesting that Facebook has rolled out this feature. But then, I can’t wait for the embedded posts from Instagram.
