Apple has filed a trademark for an interesting name, “iWatch” in Japan last week. The company is expected to launch a new category of product in the months to come, and this might be just a hint that Apple is working on a wearable gadget.
Apple has been filing trademarks of the names of its future products in Japan earlier. Now, the company filed for yet another trademark, which reveals that it is a handheld computer or a watch device.
This has started the speculation that Apple is indeed working on a smartwatch, and is expected to reveal the new product early next year. This might be yet another trick from Apple though. Apple might have just reserved the trademark to just save itself from someother company using the name in future.
