OS X Mavericks has a cool new feature which enables the user to automatically check for app updates from the Mac App Store. Also, this feature has the ability to update the apps automatically in the background, which might worry you if you have a limit on the bandwidth.
But fortunately, there’s an option with which you can disable the automatic app updates. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to do that.
Disable Automatic App Updates on OS X Mavericks
- Open System Preferences
- Now, click on the App Store icon
- Just uncheck the option Automatically Check for Updates
You can also choose between different options. Like I would like to get notified about the updates but I don’t want my Mac to automatically update the apps for me. So I just uncheck the Download App Updates automatically option here.
