My iPhone’s screen goes blank, and it becomes completely unresponsive. It just gets stuck. And I can’t seem to do anything. What will I do now? Well, I have found a temporary fix for this.
After upgrading to the latest version of iOS, which is still in beta, the iOS 7, I’ve been experiencing this issue very often. My screen goes blank and the phone will not respond to anything. Even for the Home Button or the Power button. I was just wondering what the issue would be, and thought I would give some more statistics to the company to fix this bug.
It turns out that the phone’s screen is unlocked and the phone works just fine. But the problem was with the screen’s brightness. During these situations, if you take the phone out, and look deep into the screen with sunlight directly onto it, you’ll find that the icons and other elements are still visible. The bug is majorly with the brightness and proximity sensors.
So, here’s how I would fix this every-time if I’m in such a situation:
- I fireup Siri by pressing the Home Button for sometime, and tell it to launch an App.
- If that does not work, or if you’re out of internet connectivity, then just hold down the Sleep/Wake button for sometime. It brought back my screen.
- If that fails, or if your Sleep/Wake button is not working, then just make a phone call from another device to your iPhone running iOS 7.
- If that fails, send a notification to the device. Like Facebook notification or an email to the phone. It would wake up the screen.
These were some of the tricks which worked for me. And I think it would work for you too.
