Google Mirror API also received an update along with the Glass’ XE6 update today with streaming capability. The developer site confirms this news and has given the steps to stream a video instead of attaching it.
Google updated the Glass devices with XE6 update, which brought improvements to the camera app with HDR capability and improved low-light photographs. Along with the XE6 update, the Mirror API has also gained the ability to stream videos right from Google Glass, opening up a lot of possibilities for the developers.
The Developers Website states that the developers can stream the videos instead of attaching the video:
“If you are attaching video files to your timeline items, we recommend that you stream the video instead of uploading the entire payload at once. The Google Mirror API supports streaming with HTTP live streaming, progressive download, and the real time streaming protocol (RTSP).”
Right now, this is the update we have from the Glass team for the developers. But this is looking good right now.
