Google Reader’s death is giving rise to a lot of new RSS feed Readers on the internet. Latest company to jump into this service to fill a huge gap is Digg. The social network announced today that their development team has been working on an alternative from the feedbacks from its users.
The new service, called Digg Reader is definitely going to turn heads, and the new RSS reader already has set the hopes high. The initial version of Digg Reader will be rolled out to those who gave their team feedback on how they’d want to new service to be.
Digg says that they’ve completely considered and gone by the users’ wants, and they are rolling out just a basic version that would replace the Google Reader when it dies out next month. The new RSS reader will be available to everyone on June 26th, and the release will have an accompanying iPhone app in the App Store. The Digg Reader will also help people migrate their existing folders and feeds from Google Reader, and will be very similar to the Google Reader’s interface. But wait. Digg wants to monetize this service. The initial release will be completely free to the public, and the company is planning to launch a premium service in near future.
