As reported earlier, the AOL Reader is now out for Public testing. You can get your beta access by just signing up at the reader.aol.com website.
The new reader is pretty basic and still has some bugs in it. AOL Reader is still in development and is expected to improve its quality as the weeks go on. While the entire world was talking about the upcoming Digg Reader, AOL’s Reader came to us all of a sudden with just a leak.
The new AOL Reader brings a really simple interface and it almost looks like a webapp from a single developer. But then, considering the company’s history in managing the content, I think we can believe in their team. For me, the new service is pretty good, and I’m not a fan of a web app with a lot of social sharing options.
The AOL Reader is simple, elegant and just displays the feeds I want. The import OPML is experiencing a small issue, but still, its in Beta, and its definitely going to improve in the longer run.
If you’re looking for a new Google Reader alternative with a very simple interface, then AOL Reader might be your choice.
