Google released Google Now for iOS within its Google Search app for the iPhone and iPad. But then, a lot of users have been complaining about how to prevent the app from having the Location Services turned on always, no matter if the app is closed, or is not being used. Here’s a fix. Let’s kill this.
Before we do this, let’s understand why this occurs. First, Google is known for tracking user data and making a living out of it. And this is the reason behind the constant use of location services. But as Google promises, the app does not use less battery on iOS. The app keeps constantly tracking your location to provide you with the latest traffic information, and latest news updates and nearby spots around you. But these doesn’t really matter when I’m asleep.
Let Google Now not use all your battery on iOS
- Open Google Search for iOS
- Now, tap on the Gear icon (Settings)
- Next, Tap on Privacy
- Scroll down, and you’ll find the neat and silently sitting culprit. Hang them now.
- Turn off Location Reporting
And boom, you’re done. Happy Google Now-ing! 😀
