Now you can install and Sync Google Fonts to your Desktop

This is pretty huge. Google Fonts can now sync with your desktop via SkyFonts app from Monotype.

Google Fonts is one of the most popularly used font rendering engine on the internet, and now, the huge Open-Sans fonts database can now be synced with your desktop.

Google has officially rolled out its fonts via SkyFonts, an app which is available for both Mac and Windows. Here’s what Google has to say about the SkyFonts app for Mac and Windows:

SkyFonts automatically updates the fonts installed on your system whenever they are updated on Google Fonts – for example, when new characters are added – ensuring you always have the latest fonts to work with. And with the fonts installed locally, browsing websites that use web fonts will be faster, since your browser won’t have to spend time fetching font data. If you’d rather download the source files to edit the font data directly, you can always do so from the project at Google Code.

This is a happy news for the designers and UI developers across the world. And I’ve always wanted this to come our way.
