This year’s Google I/O might not be as exciting as it was last year. But then, it was very important for the company to get back to business rather than leaving its platforms open to everyone, loosing control of the entire ecosystem.
The new Google Play services (Which many Number 1 tech blogs did NOT cover) are really important for the company. And I think, Google has figured out a way to have a hold of whatever they do.
Rather than releasing new versions of Android every year at I/O, the company revealed a number of APIs, that would pull all the loose ends towards the Google Play services, rather than any third party App Stores like that of the Amazon App Store.
This Business Insider article pretty much covers what I wanted to express about this year’s Google I/O.
