Glass will be able to work without its companion app very soon.

TechCrunch has revealed that the Google Glass will soon start working with the iPhone, and also, may be without the companion app MyGlass.

Google Glass is now with a very limited number of people across the world, and everyone who uses Google Glass has to pair with the MyGlass companion app to navigate and perform a lot of functions on Glass. But now, here’s something interesting. TechCrunch’s Frederic Lardinois picked up his Glass unit, and he seems to have got some essential information from the staff.

Here’s what the Google employee said when picking up his Glass unit:

Glass, the Google employee told me, will soon be able to handle these features independent of the device the user has paired it to (and maybe even independent of the Glass companion app).

Also, he seems to have broken the myth of people asking “Is Glass connecting to the internet directly?”

Answering to this question, he says, that the user (At the moment) has to have a tethering plan activated on their Android devices, in-order to use internet on Glass. But then, Glass is essentially a gadget which breathes internet, and now, I can’t imagine the amount of data and battery the user should provide to enjoy Glass. Now that the Google Glass’ app ecosystem is starting to boom, this is something that Google should consider (Which I think it will) to make it a success.

If Glass comes out with these features, which is relying on the smartphone to get connected to the internet, that’s something which every user will think of. Thrice.
