Here’s how you can enable Google Now on your new Chromebook Pixel which you got from this year’s Google I/O 2013.
Google unveiled a cool new Google Now kind of voice search at this year’s event, and I was there, witnessing the demo of this wonderful feature. Believe me, this feature is addictive, and made my life easier, since I was hopping between flights after I/O, and Google Now helped me completely to track my flights and the Terminal and Gate number.
The demo at this year’s I/O showcased the voice search feature, where you can talk to Google to do the search for you instead of the traditional searching. Now, here’s how you could enable, and it turned out to be pretty simple.
Enabling the Google Now search on your Chromebook Pixel:
- Just type chrome://help/
- This would open up the Chromebook’s Help page, which will show you the current version of the Google Chromebook
- Now, you’ll find a small dropbox, which says Stable. But now, since we would like to try the new Google Now on Chromebook right now, just choose the channel to Beta.
- It would download about 1GB of build from the Google’s Servers, and once done (There will be no alert that it’s done), just restart your Chromebook and boom, you can use the Google Now by clicking on the Mic icon on the Google Search page.
