Twitter’s Music service to launch this Friday

This is an interesting move by Twitter. The largest micro-blogging service is launching its own Music service to the public this Friday (In a few hours maybe).

The above is the image which you’d see when you hit music.twitter.com. But unfortunately, the Sign In does not work. Here’s what CNET notes about the new music service from Twitter:

“Twitter Music, which is set to arrive in the wake of key competitor Facebook overhauling the music section of its News Feed, shows Twitter taking new steps into becoming a full-fledged media company. The app acknowledges the key role music has played in drawing new users to the service — particularly younger, mainstream users. Pop stars have some of Twitter’s most popular accounts, with followings in the tens of millions. The TwitterMusic account has 2.3 million followers — not a bad perch from which to launch an eponymous app.”

Also, there’s also going to be a new app on this new service as AllThingsD States:

“The microblogging service plans to launch its new standalone music application on Friday, according to sources familiar with the matter.”

I’m actually waiting for the app to launch. Let’s see why and what Twitter is going to offer for us.
