Microsoft talks about how it re-branded its identity. Gives a peek at Bing, Yammer and Xbox re-branding.

This fascinating video reveals some of the deepest insights of what it took for the company to re-imagine and re-create its identity in the market. The speakers offer an impressive insight about re-branding Bing, Xbox, Skype, Yammer and many more.

Shum and Simmons are the two from the Microsoft team who’s talking about how hard it was for them to re-create the entire brand of the organization, considering the history of the brand changes. And the speakers also reveal that the re-branding was influenced by the slow progress of Microsoft in the market.

Interestingly, the video reveals the branding they thought of for Bing a couple of years ago. And Simmons also hints that these re-branging could take some iterations and come along to the public in a few years. And here’s the Bing logo from the video:
