Delhi High Court has ruled in favour of Ericsson in their patent infringement case against Micromax. The court has issued instructions to Micromax to pay up royalty for every device they sell till the 9th of April as an interim agreement. Both the companies are expected to settle a patent deal on that very date.
Micromax have allegedly been unfairly using proprietary EDGE, 2G and 3G technologies. As a result Micromax will have to pay close to 2% of their sales proceeds to Ericsson. Additionally Micromax will also have to pay up $2.50 for every internet dongle it sells.
The disputed hasn’t been settled yet though and the final figure of the damages might change in accordance to how the companies henceforth proceed in court.
