Apple allows users to manually link your friend’s Facebook profile using the Contacts app on iOS. But it is just that the steps to add are not pretty straight forward. Today, let’s take a look at how to add these Facebook Profile manually to a contact on your iOS device.
Starting with iOS 6, Facebook got deeper integration with iOS devices. And then, the users got the ability to sync Facebook contacts with their Contacts app on iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch, and also the system automatically identifies the contacts who use Facebook and sync their other information like Birthday, Facebook Profile Link and such.
These syncing happens based on the Contact’s email ID and phone numbers. But there are some users who does not expose their phone numbers to Facebook. In such cases, you might want to add (link) their Facebook profiles manually to their Contact. Here’s how you could do that.
Link Facebook Profile to a Contact on iOS Contacts App:
- Open Contacts App on your iOS device.
- Now Select the contact to which you’d want to link the Facebook Profile to.
- Tap on Edit
- Scroll down, and Tap on Add Field
- Scroll down a bit, and Tap on Profile
- The app will now ask you to enter the Facebook’s Profile Name.
- And that’s it. You’re done.
Note: While adding the profile name in Step-6, remember that you enter the name of the profile only. Example, my Facebook Profile is Karthik Kamalakannan, and you’ll have to just enter my Facebook Name in the field.
